A civil terek pénzügyi és gazdasági önállósága az elmúlt évek egyik legfontosabb témájává vált Budapesten. Miként lehet mozgósítani a közösségi erőforrásokat a független terek, szociális szolgáltatások és kulturális produkciók megvalósítása érdekében? Erre a kérdésre keresi a választ a Funding the Cooperative City c. könyv és a hozzá kapcsolódó kerekasztal-beszélgetés.

Funding The Cooperative City a közösségi-alapú városfejlesztés európai kísérleteit mutatja be, különös tekintettel az önszerveződő, helyi közösségekbe beágyazott, inkluzív és alkalmazkodóképes civil terekre és a körülöttük szerveződő hálózatokra – az etikus tőkéhez való hozzáféréstől a crowdfundingon keresztül a közösségszervezés illetve az intézményekkel való együttműködés kérdéseiig. A könyv Lisszabontól Varsóig és Liverpooltól Rómáig térképez fel különböző stratégiákat az etikus tőke mobilizálására és a közösségi alapú befektetésre; közösségszervezésre és intézményekkel való együttműködésre; különböző szervezeti formák létrehozására, amelyek lehetővé teszik a hagyományos ingatlanfejlesztési logikából való kilépést, illetve a közösségi célokra használandó épületek megnyitását, megvásárlását, felújítását vagy építését.

How to develop financially stable, economically strong and socially rooted civic spaces? How can we mobilise community resources in order to create independent spaces, social services and cultural productions? The book Funding the Cooperative City and the corresponding roundtable discussion explore the state of community finance in Budapest and emerging initiatives across Europe that step out of the regular dynamisms of real estate development and arrange new mechanisms to access, purchase, renovate or construct buildings for communities.

Funding the Cooperative City explores experiments in community-led urban development in European cities, highlighting the importance of self-organised, locally rooted, inclusive and resilient community networks and civic spaces. In a journey from Lisbon to Warsaw, Funding the Cooperative City highlights different strategies of fundraising and investment; self-organisation, resistance and cooperation with institutions; and explores the ways citizen initiatives, cooperatives, non-profit companies, community land trusts, crowdfunding platforms, ethical banks and anti-speculation foundations can support or create civic spaces.
