Eutropian is an organisation engaging in advocacy, research, policy design and local actions to support inclusive urban processes. We have a decade-long experience in community-driven spatial transformation, urban regeneration, community involvement and participation, local economic development and social innovation, community-driven urban transformation, placemaking and public spaces, collaborative housing, local economy and civic ecosystems, cultural heritage and adaptive reuse, food systems, circular economy, responsible tourism and participatory governance.
Eutropian provides support with advocacy, research and policy to support inclusive urban processes. Eutropian helps community groups, citizen initiatives, municipalities and EU institutions in participation, fundraising and policy development, as well as in designing cooperation and communication within local and international ecosystems.
We are specialised in urban regeneration, cultural development, community participation, local economic development and social innovation, with a special focus on building development scenarios on existing resources. Eutropian offers international know-how for inclusive and sustainable urban regeneration projects by connecting various stakeholders around urban planning and regenerations issues and supporting local development through sustainable economic, environmental and social models.
Eutropian consists of two legal entities: Eutropian GmbH is a Vienna-based company following a non-profit logic and pursuing public interest by offering advisory services to municipalities and international organisations, in policy development, project management, participatory planning, cooperation design, fundraising and communication. Associazione Eutropian is a Rome-based NGO with a focus on conducting research and organising participatory processes, professional workshops as well as public events. In addition, Cooperative City is a Budapest-based affiliate of Eutropian, focusing on storytelling of community-driven urban processes.
We are committed to follow a non-profit logic and pursue public interest. Although Eutropian GmbH is registered as a limited liability company, it commits to act as a public interest non-profit organisation in its operations. This engagement is manifested by both the organisation’s thematic work and economic activities. Eutropian pursues public interest by advising public institutions and engaging in advocacy, research, policy design and local actions to support inclusive and sustainable urban processes. Eutropian follows a non-profit logic by reinvesting its revenues in salaries and other operational costs.
