We were proud to celebrate the final meeting of the URBACT 2Nite network in Riga, Latvia 🇱🇻, together with our partners from Turin, Italy 🇮🇹, Cluj-Napoca, Romania 🇷🇴, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Spain 🇪🇸, and Pentàgono Urbano, Portugal 🇵🇹.

Together with our colleague Daniela Patti, we supported the transfer of Turin’s UIA ToNite good practice, helping partner cities develop more inclusive and liveable public spaces by fostering social cohesion and enhancing nighttime safety

One of the highlights was visiting Purvciems, a neighbourhood in Riga where the project is transforming the public spaces between housing blocks into places that bring people together. Home to a large Russian-speaking community, Purvciems shows how community-led public spaces can strengthen social cohesion and contribute to a greater sense of safety.

A huge thank you to the City of Riga for hosting us and to all our partners for this inspiring journey. While the project is coming to an end, the ideas, partnerships, and knowledge we have built together will continue.

The project results will soon be published and presented at the URBACT Festival in Cyprus —stay tuned!
